Type: Indoors, Group Class
Category: Fitness, Recreation
Company: Date, Friends, Visitors, Family, Kids
Cost: $17/class, $80/5 classes, $150/10 classes, $260/20 classes
Quick-Rec: Each class is only 45 minutes - and you can do anything for 45 minutes. I go at least twice a week. Unlike any other studio, Kinetic accompanies each song on the workout mix with a corresponding music video! This is one of my habits, and you can make it yours too!

OTC Tip: Your first class is free! If you want to take a weekend class, sign up several days in advance because they sell out before Friday. Also - live drums on Tuesday evenings!

Review:
I've never been the biggest fan of working out inside, and I get bored and annoyed at gyms. However, there are currently two exceptions I make to this rule - and Kinetic Cycling is one of them.

Nestled in the heart of Brentwood (across from Peet's Coffee, woo-hoo!) Kinetic Cycling offers daily 45-minute "spinning" classes. Boasting both morning (first class is offered at 6am) and evening (last class ends at 8:15pm) options, so unless you work a night schedule and sleep during the day, you really have no excuse.

Personally, I enjoy the 8am option - and while I could go earlier or later, my attendance has become a fixed weekly habit because of my favorite instructor, Spase Trajkovski. Not only does Spase put together the most motivating playlists I've ever experienced (they usually include techno, pop mashups, Michael Jackson, etc) but he has also been known to dance and dress up - does it get any better than that?

And that's what it took to get me to be a regular at a workout "studio": a great instructor who knows my name, awesome music (and video!) and...well...convenient parking and coffee across the street. Give it a try, and you will see why I've made this indoor class a "rule" to my exception.
