Review: If I had a dollar for every time I declared my promised return to Oscar's Cerveteca, I'd buy you dinner. Here's the thing - Oscar's is hip. Actually, a bit too hip. Everyone here is dressed like you'd imagine LA beach-dwellers who like to eat well and live well might: really, very cool. Fresh-faced, toned, and effortlessly efforted, don't go here if you're having a bad day. In other news, Oscar's sits on Rose and neighbors Superba, Cafe Gratitude, and several other bars and eateries that all pose the same. But oh, who cares. Oscar's is so good that I'll turn a blind eye, fork over my wallet, and wait out on the sidewalk in order to sit and eat and drink from that Cerveteca menu.
Must-eat: The La Puente Backyard Burger. The Chicano Cheese Pots. The Mac 'n Cheese with Bacon. Patatas Bravas. Key Lime Pie.
Must-drink: Fresh coconut. Everything else beer and wine related.
Fun: Brunch on Sunday's offers an entourage of Beer-Batter Waffles. Chorizo Breakfast Burger.
Simply? I'll see you there.
